FIELD: methods for hot stamping in manufacture of printed matter, in particular, methods for stamping by foil. SUBSTANCE: method consists in the fact that an image pattern representing a negative image of a text and/or figure or some other image applied onto paper or some other base is produced. Then, the pattern is connected at last to one means for intermediate deposition of the applied substance including the carrying agent and the applied substance deposited on it. Connection is accomplished by pressing of the image pattern to the applied substance. The image negative is applied onto the base with the aid of a printing means or a copying machine with employment of a tinter providing for bonding to the applied substance at connection of the image pattern to the means for intermediate deposition of the applied substance. After that the means for intermediate deposition of the applied substance is separated from the image pattern so as the separate the applied substance bonded to the tinter from the carrying agent. The means for intermediate deposition with the applied substance remaining on it is connected to the required surface by pressing the remaining applied substance forming the positive image to this surface with formation of bonding between the applied substance and the surface. Then, the means for intermediate deposition of the applied substance s separated from the mentioned surface so as to separate the applied substance bonded to the mentioned surface from the carrying agent. EFFECT: simplified process of application of image onto the surface of an arbitrary shape at manufacture of impressions by a small number of copies or by piecemeal. 7 cl, 1 dwg
