FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of lactams treatment by extraction liquid/liquid and/or by treatment using ion-exchange resin. Lactams are synthesized by hydrolysis of aliphatic aminonitrile in vapor phase with simultaneous cyclization. After removal of the greater part of ammonia from lactam the latter is subjected for extraction liquid/liquid using a solvent comprising a solvent with acidic property, and/or lactam is contacted with ion-exchange resin comprising acidic groups. Preferably to use preliminary the stage of hydrogenation of compounds present in lactam solution and comprising unsaturated bonds additionally to the stage of extraction liquid/liquid and/or the stage of passing through resin. Method of treatment can involve also the stage of oxidation complementing or substituting the hydrogenation stage. After realization of the above indicated stages lactam is subjected for distillation in the presence of a base preferably.
