FIELD: production of nonwoven materials. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has combing unit for fibrous mass preliminarily formed as fibrous layer. Combing unit has feeding table, pair of feeding rolls cooperating one with another and rotating at equal linear speed in same direction at cooperation portion, and two combing drums. Feeding table is made in the form of inserted part adapted for dividing fibrous mass into two flows. Separating part of feeding table is arranged in gap between feeding rolls and has side faces making smooth continuation of concave surfaces. Said surfaces are adapted for supporting respective fibrous mass flow conveyed by feeding roll. Each of combing drums is cooperating with respective feeding roll and discharge part of feeding table. Each of feeding rolls is covered with coils of band saw, whose teeth are inclined in direction of rotation, or coils of band saw on each of feeding rolls are arranged in alternation with respect to band saw coils, whose teeth are inclined in direction opposite to direction of rotation thereof. Each combing drum has fibrous mass removing and fibrous layer forming unit. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of nonwoven material by reduced mechanical action upon fiber layer due to decreased thickness of fibrous layer. 3 dwg
