GAS BEARING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2185532 C2

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gas bearing has casing and chamber communicating with main supply pipe and with bearing insert located inside casing. Insert is composed of parts made from gas-impermeable and porous materials. Parts made from porous material are formed as sapwood insets, with number of insets exceeding two. Diameter of insets is 0.1-0.25 of bearing diameter. Gas bearing of such construction may be used in machines and apparatuses having movable parts operating under gas lubrication conditions. EFFECT: increased efficiency and simplified construction. 2 dwg
