FIELD: foundry. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming cavity in refractory mold by using predetermined pattern; placing fusible insert made from, for example, aluminum; rigidly fixing insert by pins for imparting stability and preventing insert from floating up; pouring liquid cast iron in flat flow having temperature of 1,240-1,260 C and at rate of rise of cast iron in mold within the range of 18-22 mm/s. Method provides uniform heating of insert and formation of zone having uniform thickness and fine-grained structure of metal at cast iron and insert reaction zone. EFFECT: increased efficiency, provision for precise configuration and improved quality of cast cavity. 3 dwg
