FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to foundry. In upper mould part 1 there is housing 4 with centering cover 5 having axial hole 6. In bottom of housing 4 coaxially to hole 5 there is hole 10 in which guides 11 are fixed. In guides there is a movable blade 14 and plug 12 made of refractory material. Blade 14 is made of two conjugated vertical plates 18 and 19. End part of plate 18 has cutting edge formed by its skewed end surface and inclined ledge 20. On blade there is a removable insert 21 made of refractory material, made in form of two truncated pyramids. After pouring melt into mould, pusher arranged in axial hole 6 of cover 5, moves blade along guides 11, which destroys plug 12 and separates gate of casting, smaller bases of insert 21 shut off gate pipe along whole section. During interaction of faces of blade with moving plates 23, latter is received form cutting edge of blade, which prevents penetration of melt in guide 11 and seizure of blade in them.
EFFECT: higher quality by preventing formation of surface defects.
