DEVICE FOR BINDING PACKAGES AT PRESSING Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: packing equipment. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for binding packages of solid domestic waste with wire after pressing. Proposed device has wire twisting mechanism made in form of disk head with rotary drive and rocking mechanism to provide rocking relative to horizontal axis. Disk head has through radial slot to grip wire. Surface of slot pointed in direction of rotation has involute profile with cutting edge, and width of blind part of slot does not exceed double diameter of wire. Cutoff device is made in form of rigidly secured knife whose cutting blade is located over generating line of disk head plane rocking surface. Length and twist tightness lock is installed between axis of head rocking and knife. Width of entry slot of lock dies not exceed double diameter of wire. Invention provides combined wire gripping and twisting operations, and cutting off and returning of disk head into initial position which makes working cyclone shorter, simplifies design of devices as a whole and improves reliability of wire twisting.
