FIELD: protective coatings. SUBSTANCE: mastic contains aqueous dispersion of vinyl acetate-based polymer in amount of 40-60 wt. % solids, plasticizer, nepheline fire retardant, chalk, filler with scale-shaped particles (crystalline graphite or vermiculite), and, additionally, tetramethylthiuram disulfide increasing time stability of technological properties of mastic (observed during 12 months). Mastic is prepared by politicizing of aqueous polymer dispersion followed by addition of chalk, nepheline fire retardant, and tetramethylthiuram disulfide at continuous stirring, after which resulting mixture is homogenized for at least 30 min, completed with filler consisting of scale-shaped particles and stirring is continued to obtain homogeneous paste.
