FIELD: artistic articles. SUBSTANCE: multicolored article consists of a transparent or semitransparent thermoplastic material including colorant homogenously distributed therein. Colorant contains mixture of discrete particles, of which at least 90% have minimum size within a range of 0.005 to 0.1 mm and maximum size up to 0.5 mm. Particles are made from natural or synthetic organic polymer compatible with thermoplastic material, the mixture containing particles colored in at least two different colors, excluding white and black, whereas plastic composition contains 0.1 to 8% of polymer particles' mixture based on the weight of plastic composition. Article can be made according to method involving particle mixture-plastic mixing stage and article formation stage under conditions where polymer particles do not practically deform in coloring substance. Source of colored particles can be coloring substance concentrate homogenously mixed with polymer or its precursor or with wax. Article can be a plastic article manufactured by molding, casting, extrusion, or calendaring, or it can be an reinforced plastic article, e.g. floor coating. Articles with ornamental visible surfaces can be obtained with variable color deepness, color saturation, and observed texture of ornamental surface.
