FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: lube oil is subjected to following consecutive stages: adding strong bases in the form of aqueous solution containing 0.5-3% base with respect to the weight of oil, dehydration and extraction of light hydrocarbons, extraction and recuperation of gas oil (distilling off light fractions), additionally introducing strong base in the form of aqueous solution containing 0.1-1% base with respect to the weight of oil, and removal of impurities.
