FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed channel hydropower unit is designed for taking part of energy of river free flow and converting it into electric energy. Device has hydraulic turbine with bearings on its shafts secured in frame and hydraulic turbine spherical deformation compensators secured on frame, flow shaper whose bottom plate is installed at acute angle to water flow with shading of lower part of hydraulic turbine and having the length more than twice as great as diameter of hydraulic turbine. Frame is installed on support slides for axial displacement relative to slides and is connected with bank supports by holding wire rope and hinged rigid spacing element, all forming bank system for lowering the unit into flow. Space of spacing element is used to protect transmission line from generator arranged in hermetically sealed capsule and mechanically connected with hydraulic turbine or to install propeller shaft drive from hydraulic turbine to bank generator. High efficiency and stability of unit being placed in river and during its operation are provided by flow shaper. Efficiency of usage of flow energy is provided by positioning of hydraulic turbine relative to its core by means of bank starting system, and operation reliability is provided owing to spherical deformation compensators. EFFECT: increased efficiency, stability and reliability. 10 cl, 18 dwg
