DEVICE FOR CUTTING OF REPAIR BRANCH PIPE IN WELL Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: equipment for cutting and removal from wells of repair branch pipes such as temporary makeshifts, patches, packers, etc. SUBSTANCE: device has body and wedge knife installed in body recess. Knife has two cutting edges, one of which is rib formed by wedge and side surfaces. The other edge is made on knife base and directed parallel to body axis. Both cutting edges are located in one radial plane and form acute angle between them. Body has longitudinal hollow on side surface. Installed ahead of knife, in body longitudinal hollow, is pawl with rotary axle transverse to body on one end, and its other end is spring-loaded in radial direction. External edge of pawls projects from body to height not below knife. Pawl has catch rotating on axle. One end of catch projects above pawl and the other end through pin moves along longitudinal recess in side wall of body hollow. Catch edge is located below pawl upper edge.
