SUBSTANCE: method involves introducing at least one cometabolite for cleaning out contaminating substances from contaminated soil part, with source of at least one cometabolite being at least one root zone positioned within contaminated soil part, where each root zone has root system of plurality of plants capable of releasing at least one cometabolite; transmitting direct current through contaminated soil part between first and second oppositely charged electrodes, with first electrode being located at first end of contaminated soil part and second electrode being located at opposite end of said soil part.
