FIELD: radio engineering, applicable for determination of the national status of flying objects (aircraft, spacecraft) and their identification. SUBSTANCE: known "friend-or-foe" identification system, having an interrogator located on the Ground, and a transponder positioned on the flying object, additionally uses elements and the respective communications between them making it possible to produce a random interrogation signal and an expected reply signal coded by a password and a coding device in the interrogator, compare the received reply signal with the expected one and take a decision "friend" or "foe", and in the transponder - to produce a reply signal according to the received interrogation signal, as well as to fulfil the function of the interrogator, which ensures the solution of the identification problem between the movable objects.
