FIELD: package for smoking articles. SUBSTANCE: package has rigid cardboard box with pivotally attached cover and protective enclosure located inside box. Enclosure has tear tape attached to separation line extending at the level of box internal carcass edge facing toward cover. Method involves providing precise arrangement of preliminarily made line, which separates protective layer along edge of box internal carcass. Construction of package and method allow top part of protective layer to be precisely separated along line defined by cardboard box edge.
