FIELD: sanitary engineering, concerns situations when the underground structures are used as shelters against an air attack for inhabitants of a megalopolis. SUBSTANCE: ventilation and cleaning system of lavatories in underground structures of the underground railway has pipe-lines for supply of purified water and discharge of impure water, fan with an intake grate and at electric motor for air discharge from the lavatory attached to the wall of one of the lavatory rooms so that its discharge air conduit is brought out to the tunnel of the underground railways. A filtering mechanism containing changeable cassettes with cupromite is positioned before the fan inlet. The lavatory includes a fecal chamber with an inclined bottom, rigidly fastened in the lowest part of the bottom of the fecal chamber is a support for a fecal pump made of bars and so installed that its inlet faces downwards, and the outlet may communicate with the municipal sewerage through a pipe-line. A hatch with a door is provided in the floor of the lavatory room, and a pulley for cable is fastened to the ceiling of the lavatory room, one end of the cable may be attacked to the ear of the fecal pump, and the other, to a winch temporarily fastened on the floor of the mentioned room.
