FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves strengthening thermal treatment and nitriding, with semi- finished product being manufactured with allowance for machining and strengthening thermal treatment being provided by normalizing; manufacturing and nitriding test parts; determining sizes before and after nitriding; evaluating change of test part sizes; manufacturing commercial batch of parts and nitriding, with change in sizes of test parts being taken into account. Method provides series production of parts due to reduced manufacture cycle time. EFFECT: increased efficiency, provision for reliable strengthening and anticorrosive protection of parts without substantial deformation thereof. 2 tbl
