FIELD: preparation of potable water; sorption cleaning of tap water and natural water. SUBSTANCE: for realization of this method, use is made of rock schungite containing 27 to 32% of carbon ground to size of particles of 0.5 mm to 0.5 mcm. After magnetic separation and sealing, sorbent thus prepared is mixed with water to be cleaned at ratio of 1 : (100-1000) by volume and is passed through water being cleaned kept in any reservoir where it settles to complete clarification. Water may be kept for protracted period of time by stand with the same sorbent. Various versions are available, for example use may be made of schungite preliminarily modified through boiling in aqueous solution of alkaline. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cleaning; possibility of protracted storage of water; reduced mass and low cost of sorbent. 2 cl, 2 dwg
