FIELD: chemical detoxification methods. SUBSTANCE: substandard teaching-and-simulating formulation containing carbon tetrachloride, hydrocarbon mixture, chloropicrin, and chloroacetophenone is subjected to atmospheric distillation to isolate carbon tetrachloride. Residue is treated with sodium or potassium hydroxide solution in methanol at 55-60 C until complete destruction of chloropicrin and chloroacetophenone is attained. Afterwards, alcohol is distilled off the reaction mixture, which is then cooled, diluted with diesel fuel, and filtered. Filtrate is further used as hydrocarbon fuel and residue is buried. EFFECT: recovered carbon tetrachloride and fuel component. 2 cl
