METHOD FOR MOUNTING DETECTOR ASSEMBLY OF REACTOR INTERNAL INSPECTION SYSTEM (ALTERNATIVES) Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

FIELD: nuclear power engineering; detector assemblies of reactor internal inspection systems. SUBSTANCE: three new alternative methods are proposed for detector assembly mounting and dismounting. According to first alternative method oblong can plugged on one end is placed in reactor vessel and/or its cover and they are hermetically welded together. Detectors are assembled, some of them being secured on plate. The latter, pipe passing detector cables, and sealed passage are fixed together by welding or soldering. Assembly is mounted on can and passage is hermetically fixed to can through split joint. According to second alternative method can is built of two parts of which one is made in the form of oblong hollow cylinder with flange and other is used as bottom part of can. Upon manufacture of detector section of assembly auxiliary wire is welded or soldered to plate during assembly manufacture or after disposing wire in can. Auxiliary wire is used to shift detector assembly to desired zone of can and upon complete or partial removal of wire bottom part of can is hermetically joined to its oblong part. According to third alternative method can is made in the form of through hollow cylinder with flange and contracting opposite part. Upon manufacture of detector assembly the latter is shifted by means of auxiliary wire pre-connected to plate to desired zone of can and end of the latter is hermetically sealed with wire end.
