FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method for separate harvesting of cereal grains involves simultaneous mowing of crops within 1/3 part of stem; shelling stubble; grinding remaining part of stems with uniform distribution over field; embedding ground part of plants in soil; loading grain part in vehicles and conveying to stationary drying and threshing stations or to field edges for stacking with following threshing. Harvesting of cereals by direct combining method is conducted simultaneously with mowing of crops within the range of upper 1/3 part of stem and ears, with following threshing, separation of grains and delivering into hopper. Straw and chaff are charged into vehicle and transported to the place beyond field. Remaining part of stems is ground and uniformly distributed over field surface. Stubble is shelled and ground mass of stems and stubble is embedded in soil. Apparatus has header with frame and cutterbar, and disk-type sheller. Apparatus is further equipped with stem grinder having double-tier arrangement of knives. Grinder is pivotally fixed to frame for displacement in vertical plane irrespective of position of apparatus. Disk-type sheller is composed of two disk sections. One of disk sections is pivotally secured on sheller bar. EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to simultaneous effectuation of all operations during harvesting of cereals, and increased efficiency. 4 cl, 2 dwg
