FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: method involves the use of selected strain Aspergillus niger VKPM F-809 for production of citric acid under conditions of submerged culturing. Strain shows high acid-producing activity in expanded range of substrates: in medium of sorghum condensed juice, molasses and sucrose-mineral medium. Conversion of sugars of indicated nutrient media to citric acid is 84.1; 62.9; 87.25%, respectively. Strain is the base for development of pliable technology by using different raw species in a single technological process and ensures to decrease the dependence of production from business conditions in raw market. EFFECT: valuable properties of strain. 1 tbl, 3 ex
