FIELD: polymers. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to vinylidene fluoride thermoplastic copolymers exhibiting enhanced resistance against impact. Copolymers comprise 0.1-10 mol. % of fluorodioxol of the formula: where y is Rf where Rf means C1-C5-perfluoroalkyl; y is Z; X1 and X2 are similar or different and mean -F or CF3; Z means +F, -H, -Cl, and up to 100 mol. % of vinylidene fluoride. Copolymers are synthesized by copolymerization of vinylidene fluoride with fluorodioxol of the formula (I) in suspension with water or without water or in aqueous emulsion in the presence of radical initiating agent at (-40 C) + (-130 C) under pressure 0.5-150 bar being fluorodioxol is added in the start of polymerization. Invention ensures to enhance impact resistance and retain mechanical properties of articles based on copolymers of vinylidene fluoride and fluorodioxol at high temperatures.
