FIELD: wind-power engineering; windmills with axis of revolution perpendicular to wind direction. SUBSTANCE: windmill-electric set has vertical-shaft runner that mounts blades which are free to turn about vertical axes and are provided with individual operating mechanism made in the form of wind vane kinematically coupled with blade turning shaft; novelty is that top end of each blade is free to deflect in blade plane symmetrically relative to vertical axis through distance not longer than B/5.27, where B is maximum width of blade. In this way blade can turn to position in which its aerodynamic drag is maximal and angle of attack is optimal. EFFECT: reduced load on blade operating mechanism, enhanced stability of runner speed. 3 cl, 4 dwg
