SUBSTANCE: protective member has at least one machine-perceptible magnetic layer and at least one additional layer partially transparent in visible spectral region. Additional layer is arranged above magnetic layer so as to overlap it. Protective member is made from film material composed of polymeric film, onto which at least one machine-perceptible magnetic layer and at least one additional layer partially transparent in visible spectral region are applied, with additional layer being arranged above magnetic layer. Protective member may be made in the form of thread, strip or tape, which is at least partially embedded into material of documents to protected from counterfeit, such as banknotes, securities, identification cards.
