FIELD: mechanical engineering; high-pressure plunger pumps. SUBSTANCE: plunger of pump performs function of separator of working fluid and fluid being handled; plunger is sealed in pump over outer surface. For hydrostatic relief of plunger support, plunger has hollow cylinder articulated with support and provided with radial ports in wall extending to cavity containing working fluid. Sleeve with blind bottom is fitted on cylinder for axial motion relative to piston opening ports at suction and closing them at delivery; return compression spring is fitted between cylinder and bottom of sleeve. EFFECT: reduced dead volume and losses; reduced overall dimensions and mass of pump. 4 dwg
