FIELD: distillation industry, particularly, denatured alcohol, mainly, denatured methanol widely used in organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: denatured alcohol contains methanol as an alcohol, and denatonium benzoate or saccharose octaacetate as a denaturing additive in amount of 0.001-0.03 or 0.01-0.30 mas.%, respectively. Claimed denatured methanol possesses shock bitter taste providing instantaneous repulsive action, including vomitive one at its oral administration by man without toxic action of methanol, and without changing of methanol reactivity in organic synthesis.
