FIELD: diagnosis of state of pipe lines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in measuring frequency (fi) at which maximum of correlation function from acoustic noise source in pipe line appears; then, frequency (fo) of fundamental tone of acoustic noise at section with nominal thickness of wall (ho) is determined.
