FIELD: devices for conduction of heat-mass-transfer processes, particularly, rectification, adsorption, vapor condensation, cooling of vapor-gas mixture, gas-cleaning, etc; applicable in chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, metallurgical, wood-pulp and paper industries. SUBSTANCE: mass-transfer apparatus has body, gas-distributing contact device in the form of woven net, branch pipes for supply and withdrawal of gas, vessel for liquid. Inlet of gas-supply branch pipe is located below gas-distributing contact device; and provided with additional woven net located below level of outlet of supply branch pipe. Vessel for liquid is communicated by main line having pump with casing hollow above gas-distributing contact device. Additional woven net may be located at distance L from gas-distributing contact device. In this case, L , m, where l<γ< 2 is ripple factor of gas-liquid layer; σ is coefficient of liquid tension, N/m; dequiv is diameter of equivalent woven net of contact device, m; ρ is liquid density, kg/cu.m; g is free fall acceleration, m/sq.s.
