FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: method involves combined protection of tobacco from soil-habitable pests and planting seedlings; simultaneously applying biological preparation mixture and irrigation water into ridge zone; preparing preparation solutions in seedling machine vessels; prior to applying mixture of biological preparations (metarhizine + boverine 10 l/hectare) locating pheromone traps on plot for determining pest population therein (in case pest population exceeds economic damage threshold, trap channels are additionally cut along field perimeter); applying feed attractants such as protein vitamin concentrate or feed concentrate of lysine (1 kg/hectare) for confusing pest larvae; locating additional pheromone traps for trapping and sterilizing imago pests. Method allows damage to tobacco to be substantially (by 87%) reduced and tobacco yield to be increased by at least 500 kg. Method may be used for protecting any seedling or tilled crop from multiple-row soil-habitable insects. EFFECT: increased efficiency, improved nature protection, provision for ecological safety for humans and useful biota.
