FIELD: converter engineering; pulse-phase control of thyristor converters phase-controlled from self-saturating magnetic amplifier. SUBSTANCE: operating winding circuit of converter is supplied with trapezoidal- waveform ac voltage; thyristor output control pulse is shaped due to discharge of pre-charged capacitor through primary winding of pulse transformer with aid of single-junction transistor; during this discharge capacitor undergoes booster charge in beginning of operating half-cycle of supply voltage to 80-90% of single-junction transistor operating voltage to limit maximal control angle; as soon as control pulse arrives from magnetic amplifier, transistor operation setting voltage is reduced to value lower than voltage across capacitor by reducing its base-to-base voltage; when control pulse is not supplied from magnetic amplifier throughout entire half-cycle of supply voltage, single-junction transistor will operate upon reduction of this voltage by end of half-cycle; in the process power thyristor control pulse with control angle close to 180 deg. is generated.
