SUBSTANCE: device uses gradual load turn-on circuit arrangement and incorporates components ensuring fast discharge of RC circuit capacitor when supply voltage is applied. Fast reclosure of power circuit is accompanied by gradual grow of voltage across lamp and, hence, current it carries from zero to value set on brightness control potentiometer during preceding starting procedure.
