FIELD: medical engineering; medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves controlling awareness level by recording operator body pressure distribution over supporting surface and comparing the data with reference values and acting upon the operator. Falling in sleep phase is identified by changes in operator body position that is determined from jump in pressure load redistribution over the supporting surface. Device has pressure load gages spaced over armchair seat surface and connected to measurement processing unit which output is connected to recording and analysis unit input which output is connected to information and command production unit. EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in supporting drivers, pilots and other operators in aware state in situations of high risk level. 3 dwg
