FIELD: railway transport; car automatic couplers. SUBSTANCE: proposed device has housing accommodating pressure wedge, friction wedges, movable and fixed plates and intermediate plate which rests on cylinder with sealing cover sliding along cylindrical centering surface made in housing. Rod arranged inside cylinder rests on bottom of housing. Working chamber of cylinder are filled with volumetrically compressible shock absorbing composition and are hydraulically interconnected owing to ring clearance between cylinder and rod and holes in rod. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of draft gear, both at shock dynamic and slow quasistatic actions. 1 dwg
