SUBSTANCE: invention provides novel compounds of general formula IA: (IA), where n is equal to 1; X1 and X2 each independently represents chlorine or bromine; A represents oxygen or sulfur atoms; R1 hydrogen; R2 represents C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C4-alkylidene, or CH2OR5; R3 represents hydrogen, chlorine, or bromine; R4 represents C4-C6-alkyl; and R5 hydrogen; provided that R3 is absent if R2 is C1-C4-alkylidene. Invention relates likewise to composition used in production of ethylene copolymers consisting of two or more above-indicated compounds selected from those of formulas IIA: (IIA) and IIB: (IIB) and also covers processes of production of polymers based on alpha-olefins involving above-indicated compositions as catalyst promoters.
