IMPROVEMENTS IN PAPER MANUFACTURE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: pulp-and-paper industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves manufacturing single-layer paper having elongated impermeable member at least partly embedded therein; providing stages of screening one or several portions of porous supporting surface; applying first layer of paper filaments onto porous supporting surface around screened portions; laying strip of impermeable material in contact with screened portions of supporting surface so that at least strip edges overlap applied layer; applying another layer of paper filaments onto first layer and layer of impermeable material for reliable embedding of strip edge into paper. Screened portions are made impermeable to prevent laying of filaments thereon before laying of protective member, and to form plurality of discrete translucent or transparent window in open portions on one side of paper first surface. Opposite side of paper is free from paper filaments lengthwise of strip between edges to allow continuous portion of strip on second surface of paper to be opened. Method allows document with any width of impermeable strip, up to full width of document with paper coatings of any design, to be manufactured.
