FIELD: articles with protection, such as check guarantee cards, identification cards, and paper documents with protection, bank notes, checks, inclusive, and method for their manufacture. SUBSTANCE: the article with protection has the first and second surfaces and a protective thread consisting of the first part, positioned between the first and second surfaces, and the second part that is open in the aperture made in the first surface; the protective thread has a means providing for at least one concealed element of protection making it possible to check the authenticity of the article with protection and not detected visually, when the protective thread is subjected to the effect of electromagnetic radiation only in the spectrum visible region; the open state of the second part of the protective thread in the aperture in the first surface facilitates detection of the concealed element of protection due to provision of a readily accessible part of the protective thread; the whole part of the protective thread that is open in the aperture of the first surface has a dull non-reflective appearance, closely coinciding in color with the part of the first surface surrounding the aperture, due to it, if you look at the first surface in the reflected light in the spectrum visible region, the open part of the protective thread is not distinguished and doesn't form a visually noticeable element on the article with protection in the reflected light in the spectrum visible region.
