METHOD FOR DEFEATING RESISTANCE OF COLORADO POTATO BEETLE TO PYRETHROIDS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture, plant protection. SUBSTANCE: treatment of potato plants against Colorado potato beetle should be carried out by binary mixture at triple action upon beetles. Binary mixture consists of watery suspension of insecticide out of pyrethroid group and watery suspension of entomopathogenic nematodes of Steinernema species during the period of mass larvae output. Plants should be sprayed in evening period at relative air moisture value being 75%, not lower. Positive effect corresponds to 3-fold decrease in reversion duration of resistance of Colorado potato beetle to pyrethroids and multiplicity of seasonal treatments of potato plants for its defeating. Pest's sensitivity to pyrethroids is increased by 26-53 times due to restoration their toxicity and 1.8-2.3- times increase of insecticidal and entomopathogenic nematodes' biological efficiency in case of their combined application in fighting against resistance of Colorado potato beetle to pyrethroids.
