FIELD: industrial organic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: process involves dehydration of propane flow into propylene on dehydrogenation plant and transferring flow leaving dehydrogenation plant and containing 25-40 wt.% propylene to alkylation plant together with benzene flow observing benzene-to-propylene molar ratio 8-10. Alkylation product is distilled on the first rectification column to isolate light fraction consisting essentially of propane, which is returned into dehydrogenation cycle, and heavy fraction, which is distilled on the second rectification column to isolate unreacted benzene as top cut, which is returned into alkylation process, and 99%-purity cumene as bottom product.
