FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for synthesis of monoalkylbenzenes through alkylation of benzene, characterised by that the alkylating agent used is methane, propane or technical propane-butane mixture and the reaction is carried out in a single step in a barrier electric discharge.
EFFECT: use of the said method enables to obtain alkylbenzenes in a single step without using expensive catalysts, high temperature and pressure.
