FIELD: heat exchange apparatuses used at recovery of hard-to-burn brown coal, possibly in heat exchange apparatuses for producing and further using heat transfer agent. SUBSTANCE: direct-process gas generator includes reaction chamber for solid fuel having water jacket and gas distributing grate. Water jacket has water tubes placed uniformly by rows around reaction chamber. Grate is rotary one and it has stepped perforated insert whose symmetry axis does not coincide with rotation axis of grate. EFFECT: improved heat exchange between gaseous and liquid media, enhanced efficiency of gas generator. 2 dwg
