FIELD: metallurgy; hydrometallurgy of vanadium; processing and decontaminating liquid vanadium-containing wastes formed during production of various commercial compounds: NH4VO3, V2O5 and other. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes sorption of vanadium from solutions in dynamic mode on ionite of polyoxyamine type till break-through of vanadium into filtrate followed by washing ionite and desorption of vanadium. Novelty of invention consists in treatment of ionite in column with hydrochloric acid solution after break-through of vanadium into filtrate; concentration of hydrochloric acid ranges from 0.5 to 5 g/cu.dm; 5-15 volumes of acid are required per volume of ionite; then, sorption of vanadium is performed again on treated ionite. EFFECT: increased productivity; increased sorption capacity by vanadium; reduced consumption of ionite and reagents. 1 tbl
