FIELD: modification of iron-containing surfaces of friction units. SUBSTANCE: method includes delivery of mixture of dispersed particles of minerals prepared beforehand in form of α-chrysotile, ortho-chrysotile, ribbon lizardite, dolomite, as well as graphite or/and shungite, catalyst and surfactant at the following ratio, mas.%: α-chrysotile, 30-40; ortho-crysotile, 30-40; ribbon lizardite, 10-20; dolomite, 5-15; graphite, 0-5; shungite, 0-5; catalyst 2-5; and surfactant, 3-8. Dispersivity of particles of mineral components and catalyst corresponds to 1-30 mcm at flow rate of said mixture of 0.0015-0.003 g/cu.cm. Said method makes it possible to organize effective technological process at minimum consumption of components and satisfactory sanitation. EFFECT: enhanced wear resistance of surfaces. 5 cl, 3 tbl
