FIELD: manufacture of double-rib knitted products. SUBSTANCE: method involves connecting two parts along their edges in the process of knitting by transfer of loop from outer working needle of one needle case onto inoperating or free needle of other needle case, with following forming of smooth or ribbed surface loops. Fabric of both parts is formed on the basis of single knitted interweaves. According to one version, method allows vertical connection of parts to be produced at both sides in the process of knitting, said connection being composed of one loop of lasting and one loop of smooth surface. According to other version, said connection is composed of one loop of lasting and two loops of smooth surface. Use of lasting and smooth surface loops increases strength and reduces elasticity of article parts connection portion.
