FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely processes for treating powder materials with use of electron-beam surfacing, possibly restoration of worn surfaces of different articles. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of creating on surface of metallic article zone of melting by means of electron beam with linear scanning in the form of several mutually parallel lines; supplying surfaced material to melting zone; imparting motion to article; preliminarily cleaning surface of article by electron-beam melting without supplying surfaced material; scanning by electron beam normally relative to article motion; using as surfaced material mixture of powders thermically reacting by action of electron beam or precipitation strengthened composition powders. EFFECT: enlarged technological possibilities of process, enhanced physical and mechanical properties of surfaced articles. 7 cl
