FIELD: gas analysis. SUBSTANCE: method is employed for high- sensitivity detection of amines, hydrazines and their derivatives in air and gas-drop mixtures. Stream of air and auxiliary gas is supplied to heated oxidized molybdenum surface of emitter of surface-emission detector as well as analyzed air mixture or gasdrop mixture. Positive ions of organic compounds are formed on surface of emitter which are attracted to collector that is cathode under effect of electric field. Process of formation of ions on oxidized surface of emitter takes place in laminar flow of gas running off it. Oxides on surface of emitter are formed in flow of air under flow rates preset for analysis. Ion current is measured by way of direct measurement of electron component of ionization process. Emitter is produced from monocrystalline molybdenum in crystallographic orientation [110] and is installed axially in cylindrical holder which side surface passes smoothly to face surface of emitter. Surfaces of collector contacting gas flow also have smooth transitions ensuring laminarity of flow. Duct in collector is positioned uniaxially with emitter and is intended for outlet of gas after analysis.
