FIELD: analytical methods. SUBSTANCE: method is applicable for analytical control of treated waste waters coming from enterprises of varnish-and-paint and photographic industries. For extraction concentration at pH 2-3, 0.5 M hexane solution of trioctylphosphine oxide is used and hydroquinone and pyrocatechol are determined in separated organic phase by technique of reverse-phase microcolumn liquid chromatography. EFFECT: simplified method due to use of commercial reagents, conventional equipment, increased selectivity, and reduced amount of aqueous sample of extraction reagents. 2 tbl, 3 ex
