FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to locomotives and track machines mainly with induction motors. Traction drive of locomotive contains electric motor rigidly secured on bogie frame, axle reduction gear with rigid carrying housing resting on wheels axle through antifriction bearings and connected with bogie frame by horizontal tie-rod. Output shaft of electric motor is connected with input shaft of axle reduction gear by means of transfer mechanism made in form of high-speed balanced articulated quill coupling. Two-step gear train installed in rigid housing contains first-step cylindrical gear train and second-step planetary single row train. Driven gear wheel of cylindrical gear train is rigidly connected with central (sun) gear wheel, and both said wheels are installed by means of antifriction bearing on wheelset axle, while support (crown) gear wheel is secured on housing o axle reduction gear. Carrier of planetary single-row train is located at side of disk of wheelset wheel, being rigidly connected with disk, and planet pinions in meshing with central and support gear wheels are installed on antifriction bearings and they rest, through rubber members, on hollow longitudinally split pins fitted in cylindrical holes of carrier and clamped in holes by means of bolt with two conical retainers. EFFECT: simplified design, reduced overall dimensions of drive. 2 dwg
