FIELD: ultrasound nondestructive test of materials and articles. SUBSTANCE: electromagnetic-acoustic converter is specifically meant for control over quality of products of metallurgical industry. Electromagnetic-acoustic converter has case, cover, connector and induction coils. Salient feature of converter lies in employment of at least two induction coils formed on protective dielectric substrate by way of imposition one on another with displacement towards direction of winding coming in the form of individual sections wound by single wire and laid immediately adjacent to one another. Turns of sections of one induction coil are arranged inside space between turns of sections of another induction coil and butts are bent and insulated from butts of sections of another induction coil by electric insulation elastic material. Both induction coils have terminals for connection to high-frequency generator and receiver of electric signals. EFFECT: simplified design, diminished dimensions, mass and consumed power, increased service life, accuracy and reliability of test. 4 dwg
