FIELD: chemical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of separating one or more products from liquid reaction product containing catalyst in the form of metal complex with organophosphorus ligand, optionally free organophosphorus ligand, apolar solvent, and polar solvent selected from nitriles, lactones, pyrrolydones, formamides, and sulfoxides along with above-mentioned one or more products. Method contemplates (i) mixing liquid reaction product with polar solvent selected from the same group as above to achieve phase separation into nonpolar phase containing catalyst, optionally free organophosphorus ligand, and apolar solvent and polar phase containing one or more products and polar solvent; and (ii) separating polar phase from nonpolar phase. Organophosphorus ligand is characterized by coefficient of distribution between apolar solvent and polar solvent more than about 5 and for one or more products coefficient of distribution between polar solvent and apolar solvent is more than about 0.5.
